Overview

nscglobal's Head of Global Logistics Management is a critical element in ensuring customer receive their hardware at the right place and time, prepared correctly. With around 50% of nscglobal revenues based on network hardware sales, increasingly complex global network deployment programmes, and global hardware replacement support services, this is a key role directly impacting revenue, profitability and customer satisfaction. The role is focused on ensuring that all elements of logistics, including logistics, inventory management, warehousing and depots, staging and preparation, reverse logistics, import/export management, are available and delivered to a high quality. Considering the significant growth nscglobal logistics has experienced, this role is about bringing radical change to deliver the infrastructure and quality that will support this function into the future.

Responsibilities

  • Strong customer facing skills from customer tender to business integration into NSC
  • Work as part of multiple project team
  • The ability to deliver on time, within budget the deliverance of business wins and the then management of the operation ensuring all SLAs are met and exceeded
  • Manage various 3rd party carriers across the region as well as bringing in best of class providers, processes and systems that attract and retain customers
  • Skilled in all regulatory bodies  and compliance laws ensuring goods travel safely and quickly without hinderance to the desired destination whilst keeping ahead of all governmental and customs rule/law changes. .
  • Act as the interface with senior stakeholders to develop regional service offerings
  • Act as the interface with senior stakeholders including, Operations, Transformation Services, Operational Service Support, Global Purchasing and Procurement, Finance & Accounts Payable, HR and Commercial.
  • Can display the use of data and this can be developed into better business decisions and actions
  • Development, critique and presentation of proposals and reports, with supporting business cases
  • Oversee and manage the entire supply chain process from procurement to delivery.
  • Develop and implement effective strategic plans to improve supply chain operations.
  • Be responsible for people development, HR related issues and recruitment. •
  • Commutable customer offices, third part providers when required, especially need to travel when customer transitions are being made

Qualifications

  • A Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain background. An understanding of all elements of the Supply Chain is essential
  • Stimulating Customer skills
  • A background in delivering large scale customer transactions
  • Be Degree educated - Advantageous.
  • Have a minimum of 5+ years Warehouse / Operations Management experience.
  • Have worked in IT hardware Logistics distribution - Advantageous.
  • Existing knowledge of freight forwarding, customs and import/export processes beneficial. In particular IOR/EOR experience.
  • Have operated at a Warehouse Manager, Site Manager, Depot Manager, General Manager, Regional General Manager or Head of Logistics level previously.
  • You should demonstrate global experience and/or perspective and have a passion for sustainability.
  • IOSH / NEBOSH - Desirable but not essential.
  • Exposure to managing a P&L up to £2M. Monitor all costs to ensure that non-Logistics costs are identified and re-allocated to the correct business unit
  • Have a track record in successfully delivering high levels of service through various 3rd party carriers.
  • Have a track record of project management with successful delivery.
  • Be results driven and commercially focused. Has the ability to see ‘up sell’ opportunities
  • Actively manages and where necessary escalates risks, issues, and other dependencies, constructing suitable action plans to rectify and deliver the projects
  • Industry experience in a management role
  • Utilising data to identify risks and opportunities and to develop new ideas and concepts
