NSC Global is currently looking for a Staging Engineer to join our growing company.

 

Purpose of job:

The Staging Engineer will be performing technical and academic tasks on telecommunication equipment to stage and test requests within defined SLA’s. Working closely with the Warehouse, Maintenance and Inventory teams to ensure the correct components are processed and passed on to the relevant team in a timely manner. Updating templates, shared points and migration tools are essential so reporting and organisational skills are required. Technical knowledge and certifications in IT networking are required. Experienced in working with Cisco hardware and software is essential as this is the main part of the day-to-day activities. Experience in managing projects until completion and reporting configurations issues promptly to achieve deadlines. Fast learning for fast moving technology with good computer and networking devices knowledge. Training will be provided for the processes and technical assessment will be performed periodically. Training on new products is continuous to insure all requests are processed. Reports to the Staging Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Performing all staging tasks on different vendor’s devices.
  • Performing testing and repairs and coordinate with the maintenance team.
  • Updating staging templates, shared point, migration tools and maintenance data base.
  • Reporting all hardware and software issues promptly to staging manager and relevant department.
  • Ensuring all staging/testing/repairing service-level agreements are met.
  • Updating time sheet with correct Sales Orders’ (SO’s) on time.
  • Applying all company policies and health & safety measures.
  • Providing requested KPI’s on time.
  • Continuous consultations and training on new products within the staging team.
  • Quality control should be applied to all requests to avoid failures.
  • Log and save all completed requests with the required information

Qualifications

  • CCNA or equivalent qualifications.
  • Computer literate and able to draft processes.
  • Used Terminal emulators for Software upgrade & loading configuration.
  • Organise and Able to lift, unpack and pack devices for processing. Average 3 to 5 kg.
  • Apply to the company health and safety and all other policies.
  • Hardworking, punctual, and motivated.
  • Team player and respectful to everyone as the premises are shared with several departments.
  • Networking hardware knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience as a professional is a plus, however I’m a believer that everyone willing to work in a field they enjoy should be given the opportunity.
