Responsibilities

Work Experience: More than 24 months

  • Strong Smarthands network device, rack, stack, patch, troubleshoot and decommission skills.
  • Ability to identify network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, APs) and understand their basic role and functions.
  • Knowledge and experience with providing console access to devices, working on a telephonic bridge with remote engineers, sharing console access via screen sharing software.
  • Familiar with rack elevations, enterprise campus MDF and IDF closets and datacentre environments.
  • Experience with installs and refresh of routers, switches and APs.
  • CompTIA Network+ and/or CCNA skills a plus.
  • Patch cabling, power cord connections, closet cable dressing.
  • Reliable and punctual in an SLA driven schedule.
  • Able to follow instructions from senior engineers both verbal and written.
  • Accurate and reliable in following site visit procedures, communication requirements and protocols.
  • Professional demeanour, strong communication and client facing skills.
  • A positive attitude.
  • Ability to work autonomously without direct supervision and solve unexpected problems (technical or non-technical) on the fly.
  • Driven to deliver quality work.

IT qualifications may include:

  • PC\Laptop OEM Maintenance Certification
  • CompTIA A+ Certification
  • Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) certification in desktop area
  • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification
